My goal with this project is to provide the population with fact-based information about one of the greatest challenges of our time. Energy is essential for everything we do, and in the future we must shift energy production from fossil fuels to renewable energy. This is not easy, and it is important to thoroughly understand both the advantages and disadvantages of different forms of energy.
Artificial intelligence and collective knowledge
Modern AI technology now makes it possible to create solutions like this project, where knowledge from different fields can be combined seamlessly. This increases the collective intelligence in society by making complex information more accessible and understandable for everyone. AI functions as a knowledge bridge between specialized fields that were previously isolated, and enables a more holistic approach to complex challenges such as energy transition.
Methodology and approach
The project combines a range of disciplines, technology, social and political factors, risk and uncertainty, rhetoric, paradigm shifts and more. I strive to present complex information in an accessible way, while preserving scientific integrity.
Theoretical foundation
Energy and society
I am inspired by Vaclav Smil's books on the role of energy in societal development and the importance of energy density. His work provides a solid foundation for understanding how energy shapes civilizations.
Risk and uncertainty
My approach to risk is influenced by Nassim Taleb's books on randomness, black swans, and robust systems, as well as the work of Peter Bernstein, Nate Silver, and Mervin Kaye on decisions under uncertainty.
Innovation and future
I gain insights on innovation and technological development from Matt Ridley, David Deutsch, Clayton Christensen, and Safi Bahcall. Their perspectives help me understand how innovation happens and shapes the future.
Psychology and decisions
To understand how people make decisions, I rely on the work of Michael Gazzaniga, Hugo Mercier, Dan Sperber, and Jonathan Haidt on how the brain works and how moral judgments influence our choices.
